****** Will Young's 'Changes' is exceptionally good. Certainly one of the top records of 2008 - the year of all the 'changes' in the economic and political (Obama!) world situation. But apart from this coincidence, the song is so geniously special because of its purity, sounding in his refrain as a sincere outcry, a prayer almost: please, help me to change! Will Young must have written this directly led by his heart. It reminds me of one the most superb Burt Bacharach's compositions with that similar outcry: 'What the world needs now, is love sweet love'. Looking for more recent songs to compare with Will Youngs 'Changes', I immediately think of James Morrison's 'You give me something' and Adele's 'Chasing pavements' - both heartbreaking beautiful too.
