***** The bands first album with Reprise Records, and probably their best post "Pet Sounds"/"SMiLE" album. The recording of this album was not easy too say the least...the first two versions of this album (with the title "Add Some Music") where rejected by Reprise. This being the third attempt at compiling the album.... finally came to fruition.

It's easily the most concise "group" effort of any Beach Boys album, with all members writing and producing tracks. It's also worth noting that this was the last album that Brian played a significant role in as an artist, musician and producer until the mid-late 70's.

It's a cohesive album that is consistently strong all the way through, standout tracks such as "Add Some Music To Your Day", "This Whole World" and "Cool, Cool Water (a re-make of the "SMiLE" track "Love To Say Da-Da") are now Beach Boy standards and classics. Along with Dennis Wilson's three brililant tracks "Forever" (one of the best Beach Boys tracks ever), "Slip On Through" and "Got To Know The Woman".

A commercial failure by Beach Boys standards, but easily one of their best albums that has stood the test of time very well.
