**** respektabler Indie Dance Pop-Titel der Briten, die bereits dritte Single ab dem kommenden Album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It (2016), knapp aufgerundete 3.5…
****** I do love it, but I still feel like it falls short of its potential. The way he says 'sound' in the chorus is really odd, and throws the momentum out. Also, Matthew seems to completely lose any form of melody in the verse, particularly the second one, which does detract from the momentum of the track.
Luckily, however, musically, this is right up my alley, and the pre-chorus and chorus melodies (aside from the 'sound' lyric) are nothing short of superb. The ringing throughout the track takes me back to Hot Natured's 'Benediction' and the bounciness of the beat gives it quite a feel-good vibe.
All in all, at times a strange effort, but a very good one nonetheless.
****** My goodness the pre-chorus actually makes the entire song, even despite the jarring quirks that come up in every other section. It's by far one of the catchiest things I've heard from 2016 and boy I'm glad because I had always ignored The 1975 until now. It seems like no one else wants another "Shut Up And Dance" though but I'm also totally cool with that!
