* Somehow I didn't expect to be like this. Essentially I know Lou Reed can be very experimental, but this is a whole new dimension of bizarre. Apparently he performed one of these things with an orchestra once, how is that possible? Okay, you there with the violin, come here and kill some cats with me! Hey, you there, you usually play cello, how about you use that instrument to... umm, kill some cats! Oh hi there Mr. Conductor, you're usually accustomed to ensuring that the overall rhythm of the piece moves along nicely; well, here, there is no rhythm, instead the killing of cats! So, how about you put those lovely sticks to good use and help us do that.

Back to the "song", I suppose midway through the eighth minute it gets a bit worse because of the piercing noises, but you should only hear these noises for a few seconds at most when a band is setting up to perform! I don't know, I don't think it's particularly easy to appreciate this for whatever it's supposed to be. Even "I am the table" sounds like a great idea now. At least no cats were harmed in the making of Lulu. Probably. |
