Während es mit dem Erfolg (meiner Meinung nach sogar zurecht) ausserhalb ihrer Heimat noch nicht klappen will, ist "I Cry When I Laugh" in den UK aber äusserst erfolgreich: Platinum für über 300,000 Kopien und seit Release nie die Top10 verlassen. Die Stimme ist gut, nun muss noch die Musik stimmen. Die ist hier oft absolut nichtssagend, zudem finde ich es äusserst überflüssig, dass man "Rather Be", "My Love", "Real Love" UND "Not Letting Go" noch draufpacken musste. Das ist dann auch ein Grund, warum ich die kaufmännische Regel des Auf- und Abrundens mal aussen vor lasse und meine Bewertung abrunde.<br><br>Highlight: "Saddest Vanilla"

Beachtliches Debüt einer begnadenen Sängerin (und offensichtlich auch Songwriterin). Nicht alles auf höchstem Niveau, aber beste Unterhaltung - vor allem in der Deluxe-Ausgabe.<br><br>Highlights: Hold My Hand / Take Me Home / Don't Be So Hard On Yourself

A very strong album that is buoyed by the string of hits that she had during this period. Definitely was a good touch to put on all of her 'featured' ones over this period, since they are all strong (or at least as strong as Hold My Hand and Don't Be So Hard On Yourself). Her voice struggles at times but it adds a rawness to the tracks that I guess you don't really hear in current music. It's nice to her that struggle as opposed to the autotune of people who I know can sing! Besides the singles, No Rights No Wrongs and Saddest Vanilla are really good efforts. 4.7/6.
