Klingt alles ziemlich ähnlich, wie leider bei vielen Künstlern aus diesem Genre. Die erste Hälfte sehr gut, dann flacht es etwas ab, ausserdem ist die Scheibe ziemlich kurz! |

Ich hatte damals eigentlich keine Beachtung für Tracks wie "Watcha Say" oder "In My Head" übrig, was ich nun total schade finde, da die Songs eigentlich sehr gut sind. Nun ja, diese Woche im Laden ein überrachend billiges Angebot für das Album-Doppelpack "Jason DeRulo"/"Future History" gesehen und gleich gekauft.<br><br>Tatsächlich ist das Debut-Album des US-R&B-Sängers wirklich gut geraten. Die erste Hälfte (also eigentlich alle fünf Single-Releases) sind sehr stark, sowohl stimmlich als auch allgemein musikalisch. An viele habe ich schöne Erinnerungen, was vielleicht auch ein Grund sein mag warum ich die Songs heute fast besser finde wie damals. Aber eben, ich bin da halt leider vier Jahre zu spät... und wow, wie schnell die Zeit rennt!!<br>Alles in allem also ein anständiges R&B-Album mit vielen Hits.<br><br>Highlights: "In My Head" und "Watcha Say" |

I definitely have more of a love hate relationship with Jason Derulo - more than I do with most other pop artists that manage to sustain success for no obvious reason - saying that though this is a thoroughly decent effort. It's probably more decent knowing the kind of artist he has become now (with hits such as Wiggle and Bubblegum). The production here is pretty much on point from start to finish, and although it has the awful 'In My Head' on here, it managed to maintain my interest from start to finish. Not a bad effort. 3.8/6. |
