*** For some reason I was expecting this to age relatively well (partially because I had sampled it about 12 hours ago and it sounded better than I remembered then). Others might disagree with me, but I think this does avoid sounding embarrassingly Australian as far as production quality goes. So it's quite sharply produced on that account, but the problem is that the hooks are so weak, and it doesn't get better when the chorus ends on a nothingy instrumental hook. Disappointed really. 2.7 Last edited: 27.08.2014 06:09
* I'd have to agree that this is the most generic song of the year, possibly ever. Everything about it could easily have come from a bunch of other songs from the past twelve months. And since the past twelve months of popular music has pretty much shit me up the wall, this does nothing for me. It's repetitive, it's annoying, it's bland, it's repetitive, it's stupid, it's irritating, it's repetitive and it's uninteresting. Last edited: 21.01.2012 03:55
*** Most dance songs on the charts are average but this is actually on the pretty bad side. Vocals are difficult to listen to and the beat lacks impact. Overall it's dull due to that lack of impact and it's just more overused formulaic beats found in every dance track. The only reason it's not 1* is because it's Aussie.
Edit: Hmmm not minding it now. Last edited: 10.09.2011 04:59
*** Track is OK but really Havana should stick to being a DJ, because she'd already had built up a formidable reputation by doing what she was already doing, she didn't really to add singing to it!!!! Last edited: 01.09.2013 15:23
*** Personally don't think Havana is anywhere near as bad or generic as many make her out to be but I do think this song warrants it. It's not terrible but it's not exactly good. The production apart from the end of the bridge and the breakdown is quite good and the highlight. Lyrically and vocally it's pretty meh though. The chorus is very bad though and is almost enough to make me want to give this a 2.
Not the worst (or most generic :P ) thing ever but it's a shame that it's her biggest hit as it's not near her best and I much prefer the follow up single "Get It". Although this is better than the remix with Pitbull in it. Last edited: 22.01.2014 10:53
