****** This is still such an anomaly that it's difficult to grasp why it stands out so much for me. I like Fleet Foxes but have never loved them, so if you told me their old drummer was making music, you'd never get my attention. So I guess I can only say I'm glad it came to me, so I have to thank triple j so much once again, stuff the hatres.
But back on the song itself, gosh it's great. The massive drums command attention, the bluesy angst in his vocals command attention, the massive hooks (which are surprisingly satisfying to sing along to) command attention! In what has already been a stellar year for music, I just can't rate anything above this. Brilliant song and my absolute favourite of 2012!
(additionally, for whatever reason if you're wondering, I kind of enjoy Twin Shadow's "Five Seconds". I was somewhat put off by him because of his lame looking album cover, but he has a good voice and the song has some pretty cool music. Has that sort of Editors post-punk sound to it too.) ****** Here we go, incredible! The guitar riff combined with the cymbal-heavy percussion creates an amazingly dark sound. Not quite up there with 2012's best but it was not far off. Last edited: 02.06.2013 12:46
