**** The epitome of cliche. This completely rips off the shallowness and the faux sense of being "inspirational" that was found in many popular '80s and '90s charity songs such "We Are The World," while being all wrapped in a Savage Garden/Human Nature-esque commercial sound. It is utterly hypocritical that this is all coming from Charlie Puth, an alleged Trump supporter, which further reinforces its disingenuousness. There is every reason not to like this, but I found it so sweet and lovely at the end of the day that I do, albeit begrudgingly. |
