**** I haven't been able to effectively pin down one solid comparison, but this completely feels to me like something a boyband from 15-20 years ago would have done, or possibly one of the more pop-friendly R&B artists of the time. Either way, that sound and the nostalgia associated with it totally work for me and I enjoy this a lot. This has a great groove and is incredibly catchy, with great vocal delivery from Austin. I haven't liked much of his music in the past, but this suits him perfectly and is a direction he should follow. It's tough to even pick a standout moment of the song because the whole thing is so much fun. The chorus comes to mind first because of how extremely catchy it is, but then the verses are just as catchy. The two are transitioned between so well also, with the verse to chorus transition being seamless and then from the chorus to the second verse is fantastic with all the music stopping for just a few seconds, which makes for an interesting change. I'm so impressed with this effort. |
